Samba helped me discover my inner beauty
Hi, I’m Nana. I started learning Samba back in 2020 in my kitchen. After stepping foot into just one samba class before lockdown 2020, I was hooked. I practiced, stayed consistent and was determined to get better after noticing just how happy learning samba was making me. My body was getting stronger and I was falling back in love with myself.
As I was learning I decided to take bellydance lessons, and this style of dance not only made me appreciate my body in new ways, but it allowed me to really unlock my hips and bring a softness and power to my samba.
Over the last 4 years, I’ve worked extremely hard on developing my confidence and unique samba style in classes and, as always, from my kitchen.
Fast forward to 2024, and I now teach both twerk and samba classes. I’m a certified group exercise to music teacher and I’ve been to Brazil to train with some of the world’s best teachers. I’m also now a Passista for Paraíso School of Samba in London.
I’ve paraded at various carnivals including Notting Hill, Luton, Liverpool and even Rio Carnival. I’ve danced at many events, including the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance, and performed at live shows with my samba school. My samba journey has been featured on the Brazilian TV channel Record as part of their Domingo Espetacular show.
Learning samba has made me appreciate all the jiggles and wiggles my body makes. I feel powerful, confident and unashamed of my body. And I want other people to feel the same sense of joy and freedom when they dance. So if you’re ready to start your samba journey with me, book a class or private with me today. I have three main goals when I teach you samba:
to help you understand that the can learn to samba, no matter your size
to help you feel comfortable in your body and confident in your dance journey
to make learning samba fun and accessible
So if this feels like something you would like be part of and learn, come to a class. I’d love to teach you.
Nana xxx
